CO-OP MODE — parked for phase 2
CO-OP MODE is not on the floor right now. You cannot seat an exotic pool today, and the ASSEMBLY LINE no longer offers pairing with COIN-OP. This page says what it was, why it is parked, and what happens to the seats that exist.
What it was
ENTER CO-OP MODE. Two coins dropped into the slot together: COIN-OP and yours. A dev, a CTO or a community with a coin that already existed on Base could put an exotic pool on the floor — COIN-OP paired against their coin — seat it themselves, optionally lock it, and their cabinet joined the arcade as a challenger. HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!
It worked. Seats were placed, locked and verified on-chain, and the cabinets traded.
Why it is parked
Two reasons, and only one of them is about the mechanics.
The floor decoupled. On 2026-09-04 every cabinet moved to its own pair against WETH, so no cabinet reads another cabinet's pool to do anything. CO-OP MODE is the opposite shape by definition: an exotic pool exists precisely so two coins depend on each other. Keeping it while the rest of the floor decoupled would have kept alive the one class of machinery the decoupling was meant to remove.
And it was not finished as a game. Luis, plainly: the co-op mechanics and dynamics need thinking through properly. A seat is a serious thing to ask of a dev — real liquidity, sometimes locked for a long time — and the floor should be sure what it is offering before it asks again. It was easier to build than to get right, which is usually the sign to stop and think.
What happens to the seats that exist
- Nothing is taken and nothing is unwound. A seated position is the dev's, under whatever lock they chose, exactly as agreed.
- The cabinets stay linked. They appear in the Warehouse with their pools and their history.
- THE CLAW is a different machine now. It used to be the glass box those pools' fees fell into; it is now the door to the floor, and its bar is rent. See THE CLAW.
What replaced the way in
You do not need a seat to put a coin on this floor. The ASSEMBLY LINE builds one against WETH, it lands in the LOADING DOCK, and it earns its spot by paying rent — 100,000 sats — or by a FLOOR TICKET. No seat, no lock, no liquidity asked of anyone, and the door opens on a rule rather than on a conversation.
When it comes back
Phase 2, and only with mechanics worth the ask. If you are a dev who was planning a seat: nothing here is a no forever, and the floor would rather tell you it is not ready than take your liquidity for a game it has not finished designing.
No cash value. Nothing on the floor is a return, a yield, or a promise of profit. A seat was a way to play, never an investment.
